The purpose
of this site is to promote the appreciation and preservation
of the mid-century modern architecture of the San Diego County
desert community of Borrego Springs.
Located just an hour and a half from San Diego, and two hours
from Los Angeles, Borrego Springs is a Southern California
resort community largely developed during the 1950s
and surrounded by the Anza Borrego State Park, the largest
state park in the United States. Borrego Springs, like its
better known sister to the north of Palm Springs, has been
a retreat for artists, actors and architects.
Unlike Palm Springs however, Borrego remains less crowded,
more natural, less developed and offers life at a slower more
leisured pace. This site, and its information is a work in
progress and will continue to evolve. We hopeyou will contribute
your thoughts, ideas and knowledge of Borregos past
and help. Its a legacy that should we chose to reserve,
will provide great enjoyment for the future.
